[우리]가 누리던 권능은 우두머리를 잃어버린 채 대화가 되어 그 모든 걸 족쇄라 말하며 [우리]에게 더 나은 이해를 제공합니다. [우리]들은 본래 집단에서 서로를 돌보고 지원하며 때로는 교감을 통해 감정적인 유대를 형성합니다. [우리]들은 영역 내에서 파트너를 선택하고 서로에게 관심을 표현하며, 마침내 이뤄낸 영역 구성원(들)과의 긴밀한 상호작용을 통해 사회적 결속을 강화합니다. 오랜 시간 희미하게나마 남아있는 자경단들을 피해 [우리]는 서로에게 피지배자가 되어 서로를 통제하는 질서를 보존합니다.
허나 [우리]는 우리 이전에 나아가왔던 것들이 느낀 억제에서 오는 성취감을 그대로 붕괴하고 그 균열에 다른 호흡을 반영하려 합니다. 저는 분명 [우리]를 쟁취했고 당신도 분명 [우리]를 가졌습니다. 어째서 악취가 흐르는 그런 색깔로 탈피했는지 저는 당신에게 궁금한 게 많습니다.
[우리]는 과연 짐승보다 우월한 유인원일까.
[우리]는 어쩌면 인간보다 저능한 유인원일까.
